Tomorrow is (obviously) Christmas Eve and also J's birthday. As some of you may recall, back at the anatomical u/s in week 20 we asked the sonographer to write the sex down on a card we brought. We sealed it up and posted it on the fridge. Tomorrow night we open it. Yes, I'll post about the results -- I promise. I'll go on record now saying that I've been hoping for a girl, but my intuition seems to be telling me that it's a boy.
I can also report that I've reached a little discussed pregnancy milestone. I had an OB appointment a couple days ago, and, as always, I had to give a urine sample. I got all set up on the toilet holding the cup, but where I felt I had to hold it, I COULDN'T SEE IT. I kept bending forward more and more, but my belly was perpetually in the way. I finally had to kind of guess. I succeeded, but, yikes. I've got a few more appointments to go!
I can't wait to find out! I think it's brave of you to go on record about what you were hoping for, the day before the reveal! But I know you'll be excited about whatever sex you wind up with.
ReplyDeleteAs for peeing in that cup, I am USELESS at it now that my belly interferes. I am just glad the nurses wear gloves to handle those things, and I hope they don't mind the smudged printing on the label, caused by me wiping excess pee off the outside of the cup... gross, I know!
I must admit I can't pee in the OB office cup and it's nothing to do with the (still pretty non-existent) belly. I think it's just nerves, but I always end up with pee hand! Um, anyway, EXCITING! I bet that was / will be an amazing moment. And a big happy birthday to J.
ReplyDeleteWith my first (we waited until birth to find out the sex) I was also hoping for a girl but knew on intuition it was a boy--to the point that I think I'd have been a little freaked out if the doctor had announced "It's a girl!"
ReplyDeleteWe're also waiting until my second, and I suppose I'm kind of hoping for a girl this time, since we're not planning on going through all this again (although we do still have some embryos on ice, so who knows?). But having had the joy of raising my son, I know I'll enjoy having a second boy. We'll see!
Enjoy your own big reveal!
LOL! :-) Right there with ya, and I think I'm three weeks behind you! hee hee
