Once again, they get it wonderfully right:

Just When Couple Finally Stops Stressing About Having A Baby, They're Still Not Pregnant

April 16, 2011 |

HENDERSON, NV—After finally deciding to relax and not worry so much about having a baby, local couple Aaron Leonard and Shelley Akers announced Tuesday that at long last they remained no closer to conceiving a child. "After more than two years of trying to get pregnant, we decided not to put so much pressure on ourselves—and wouldn't you know it, still nothing happened," said Akers, 32, adding that you can never predict when God will choose to continue withholding His blessing. "I guess it's one of those situations where you're not expecting anything and then, totally out of the blue, you don't get it." Akers added that, for a while, she had actually begun to think her husband might be sterile, and that she was still very much leaning in that direction.

It's been a while since I updated. Things are good here. DJ is still big, still feeding every 2 hours, still going to sleep in his crib around 8 pm (most nights), sometimes sleeping four hours at a stretch (but usually 3).

I got some video of his latest hobby -- trying to get his hand in his mouth. It's too long; I'll post it when I edit it down. It's pretty funny. He stares at his hand for a while, sticks his pointer finger out, and then thumps himself in the forehead.

I'm behind on commenting but reading most days. I'm especially stalking Sarah's blog as she awaits the birth of her child; a wonderful moment in a beautiful adoption story. I can just imagine the loud electric hum I would feel all day long if it were me. I'm wishing maximum joy to the newly expanded family and an abiding peace for the birth-mother.

  2. Oh Onion, you're the best! (Though their IVF bit is not so friendly. But it's always good to test one's tolerance for being made fun of: http://www.theonion.com/articles/nobel-prize-awarded-to-man-who-helped-humans-have,18219/)

  4. Great article!!! It's been a long time since I visited the Onion, how I miss it...
DJ's new trick sounds pretty cute. Wes is just sorting out how to get a soother in his mouth, and the results sound similar.
